My first experience getting Botox injections for feeet sweating

Post by admin »

I got Botox injections on April 10, 2010 for my excessive feet sweating. I had succesful ETS surgery in 1998 to cure my hand sweating, but my excessive feet sweating did not change. If anything, it might have even become worse over the years (or just my imagination).

On the below page, I discuss my Botox experiences, thoughts and results:

Thanks very much for this detailed information!

I didn't know there were International HH conferences and free volunteer sessions. I'm going to see a doctor about my HH very soon, but depending on the outcome / recommendations of that, I would definitely be interested in getting treatment at a conference.

Good luck and I hope the Botox lasts for a long time, although based on other experiences I've read, it seems the effectiveness in feet and hands usually only lasts 3-4 months. The story of the woman whose hands remained dry for 1.5 years using Botox is the longest I've ever read about. Fantastic for her, but sadly probably isn't the case for most people.

Thanks. Still getting good results. Last few days, I have gotten a rash and/or hives and I am wondering if it is due to an allergic reaction to Botox over 3 weeks after getting injected? I have never had such an intense rash all over my upper back, throat, stomach etc..

My neighbor at my apartment complex complained about mites and got her apartment fumigated.

Luckily, I am moving into my first ever house soon!

Thanks for posting this!! I've had the ETS surgery as well.. which worked for my hands for 2 years but has somewhat changed now. My feet have always been really bad though, so I'm supposed to get botox tomorrow. I'm nervous about it though because I'm not sure what to expect. Did you ever find out if the rash was from the botox? Also, did you have any compensatory sweating after getting your feet done?

Hi khurs12, the rash/hives went away and thankfully never came back. Could have been due to stress per what Lisa told me and per what I read on the internet after she told me. I was in the process of moving into a new home at the time too. Last two months, I have had zero stress.

I got no compensatory sweating.

Good luck with your treatment and do post about your results on these forums.

BOTOX- pain and not effective for me

Post by Leslee777 »

I had botox injections on my hands May, 2010. It was the most painful thing I've ever experienced. The nerve block they did to prevent the pain during injections, only took about 70% which means I felt 30% of all of the injections without any pain-block.

Botox did not fix my problem. My hands were clammy for a couple of weeks, and then back into the full sweating like before. I will NEVER go through that pain again. Botox, even if effective, is only a temporary solution to a life-long problem. It is extremely painful, and expensive! Be careful before signing up for such a painful procedure.

The next free BOTOX session (in the planning stages ATM) is at the Australian College of Dermatologist meeting in South Australia.
10 free patients are planned, thanks to Allergan (maker of BOTOX), no charge to patients.

PM me so I can place you on the register, as it s filling up fast.

BOTOX is subsidised under Medicare and PBS in Australia. This will be a teaching session for dermatologist, and will be free. In Oz,
it is only used for the underarms (as a subsidy). Hands- feet not subsidised.

Cheers
