Re: Sweat Free - Week 2

I'm happy that this therapy is efficient.
However, you should be careful about formaldehyde. It can be very toxic on the long run and it may colour your skin brown. You should definitely ask your doctor about it.

Re: Detoxification and water fasting

I respect and understand your motives, but, please do not harm your body anymore. Prolonged and continuous fasting will force your body digest your own muscles and may be harmful to your kidneys and some other organs on the long run.

Re: 1 1/2 Month after ETS Surgery - Why is this happening?

I am one of the lucky people who suffer from almost no side effects. CS was quite bothersome for some time but it dramatically improved a few years ago. Also, my heart rate at rest is a little lower, however, this has never influenced my physical abilities. I am a 41 years old man and I still have v...

Re: 1 1/2 Month after ETS Surgery - Why is this happening?

The sweating of the palms is a rather complicated and chaotic process. In different people different ganglia transfer the sweat signals from the brain to the palms. Many ganglia from C8 to T4 are involved. The nerves often start at a single ganglion and then ascend/descend to other ganglia. Sometime...

Re: 1 1/2 Month after ETS Surgery - Why is this happening?

In normal circumstances (ie. when "normal" people have dry hands) my palms still remain dry. Some minimal sweating also appears in extreme situations (above 30 Centigrade+humidity or very nervous+27 Centigrade). I had no CS for more than a year after the ETS. Afterwards, it was rather unpleasant for...

Re: 1 1/2 Month after ETS Surgery - Why is this happening?

The palms were completely dry for about 6 months. Now, 16 years after they sweat "normally": they are usually dry, but can get sweaty during a heavy exercise or in a sauna. Sometimes I also notice some minimal sweating in the ulnar part of the palms on very hot and humid days.

Re: 1 1/2 Month after ETS Surgery - Why is this happening?

You shouldn't worry if the sweating returned 3 to 4 days after the surgery and the sweating episode lasted for less than a day. This often happens. If the sweating returned later and the sweating did not go away after some time, probably a wrong ganglion was cut/clamped. This may be a result of a su...

Re: My HH story

Last week I played several intense matches of squash and badminton and I also ran a 15 km distance. My physical abilities are the same as before and the CS stayed the same. Also, my heart rate and my blood pressure have not changed. My sweating is usually at its peak immediately after a heavy exerci...

Re: ETS Surgery (Sweaty Palms ONLY)

Congratulations!
Who was your surgeon and what kind of surgery did you have (clipping, clamping, cutting T3)?

Re: I always sweat too much

If you sweat too much all over your body you should definitely not have ETS or ELS. There are some tablets which may reduce the sweating (see the thread about Robinul and Tranxene for example).

Re: My HH story

I sincerely hope that there will be no recurrence in my case. Dr. Tarfusser told me that unfortunately this would be possible if the body found a way how to send signals to the feet through other channels. He did say that they changed the ganglion which they clip and thus they are able to achieve mu...

Re: My HH story

At the moment the compensatory sweating is the same as it was before ELS. The articles that I read say that this is the case in most patients who had ETS before. But, you can never be sure. My CS appeared more than one year after ETS and significantly decreased about 10 years after ETS. I must admit...

Re: My HH story

The feet are warm and dry. In about a week I will play a match of squash and in about 3 weeks I will visit a sauna. Then, I'll be able to give a definite answer if the feet have the ability to sweat at all. My palms did not sweat at all for about 6 months after the ETS. Then I was able to notice min...

Re: My HH story

I just returned from Merano where I had lumbar sympathectomy. It took about 5 hours to drive from Ljubljana to Merano. Merano is a charming old Austro-Hungarian town in the NE part of Italy with an unusual Mediterranean climate. We found a nice and reasonably priced hotel very close to the clinic St...

Re: ETS Surgery (Sweaty Palms ONLY)

I just had ELS in Merano and talked to dr. Tarfusser. He also told me that T4 is usually not enough to stop palmar HH permanently. T3 has to be clipped/cut. However, he found that the location of the T3 ganglion was on the 4th rib in most of his patients.
